It all started with a small idea… Now we’re taking it to the next level (and out to the world)

You probably already heard the exciting news about Sitrion being recently acquired by NewsGator from beautiful Denver (Colorado). Let me share some personal thoughts with you about why this is the logical next step for Sitrion, our great people and the product line we have successfully established within the last couple of years.

NewsGator makes work better – so does Sitrion

When we started Sitrion it was all about giving employees and managers easy and simple access to SAP-based business processes and data. Timing was perfect back in these founding days as Microsoft's uprising .NET & SharePoint platform saw tremendous momentum in the market and we made the decision among the initial Sitrion team members to bet on Microsoft for all our future SAP interoperability products we had in mind.

From the very early days until today our thinking always has been around simplicity. We wanted to build great apps that gave people access to SAP without even recognizing SAP leveraging well-known tools such as SharePoint or Outlook. Until today we created an impressive set of self-service apps, a modeling tool in Microsoft Visual Studio and a cloud-based mobile platform for SAP. Great customers around the world trust our products and make us proud.

People + Processes = Increased relevancy and fun work

So it seems like we accomplished our process & data integration goals, but now it’s time to add the most important variable to the mix: the power of people and collaboration! If you combine unstructured information, for example a conversation between an employee and a manager around a purchase requisition, with the process that is driven by SAP then you can really make relevant decisions in a shorter time. And hey, it‘s even fun work as all process participants can use the tool or device of choice for making a comment or decision related to that business process. This combination of processes and human collaboration really drives relevancy as it brings together what logically belongs together anyways.

Shaping the future of social business process interaction

Sitrion, as a new member of the NewsGator family, will add social collaboration to it’s product line of employee & manager self service apps. With this offering we will be shaping the future of how people interact with SAP driven business processes at anytime and anywhere.

This ambitious mission can only be accomplished with a powerful team. I would like to thank all Sitrion employees & friends for their hard and exceptional work of the last years. You’ve done an amazing job! Also I want to welcome our new family members from NewGator. Together, let’s make our vision become reality and work on making even more people happy with our joint offerings.
