Weekly Enterprise Mobility Wrap-Up: May 4-8

Sitrion Partners with SAP to Deliver Mobile Employee Productivity Powered by HANA Cloud Platform

► SAP and Sitrion Deliver Mobile Employee Productivity Powered by HANA Cloud Platform
The SAPPHIRE NOW event took place this week, and Irfan Khan, SAP's CTO talked about Sitrion ONE during his keynote address (14:25) and how our smart mobile solutions make people more productive. The news caught on in a number of enterprise mobile publications including Enterprise Mobility Exchange and Mobile Enterprise as well as an inclusion in SAP's HANA news release.

► Microsoft promises ‘next chapter in enterprise mobility’ at Ignite event
Also this week Microsoft Ignite occurred, where Microsoft continued to show their commitment to being accommodating in the enterprise mobile space. During the event they announced additions to their Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS), including app management capabilities and threat analysis.

► The iPad-enabled sales force: Boosting productivity for the enterprise
Despite a slump in tablet sales recently, iPad still reigns supreme. Sales and field service workers are starting to find mobile enterprise capabilities from the tablet can help them be more productive. This is especially true now that enterprise software is becoming better suited to mobile devices and interaction.

► Alleviating the BYOD hangover in the enterprise
So you initiated BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) in your company and now you need to step back and evaluate if it’s working. Did you go all in on MDM and people are balking at strict levels of security? Are you finding that the ROI of BYOD wasn’t what you thought it’d be? Perhaps change is afoot; reevaluating your policies or even shifting to a CYOD solution could help.

► Enterprise Mobility, 2015 And Beyond
As always, it’s a good idea to keep one eye focused on what the future of enterprise mobility will bring. No surprise that EMM is immature and companies are still figuring out their mobile strategy. The good news is that as time goes on there is a greater consideration for user experience in enterprise mobile apps, and the security of data is shifting from the device level to the app and content level. As always, communicate with your stakeholders.
