Living and Breathing the Social Workplace
As we get ready for the SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas next week, many of you have approached me with two questions: How is NewsGator doing and what is your take on SharePoint 2013? While I hope to see many of you next week at my session (FYI, do a search for NewsGator), it might be a good opportunity to give you an update on NewsGator now.
Social Enterprise Ready - NewsGator Rocks
The answer to your question about our well being is easy: we rock. The last quarter has been the most successful quarter in the history of the company and we are on track to make it the record year as well. You might have seen our recent news release, but let me put things in context for you. In the first nine months of the year we added more than 100 new customers: that is more than our friends at Jive and we didn't even have to burn cash to do it. Since we're the only real enterprise social option besides Jive and maybe IBM, I feel really good about our business. I think the market is starting to understand that social requires enterprise-ready solutions, and our focus on your business ecosystems like SharePoint is paying off.
Human Centric - Living and Breathing the Social Workplace
When we talk about social we talk about people; real humans trying to make a difference in their jobs, with their co-workers, their clients, and their partners. That is what drives us at NewsGator and that is also what motivates me personally every day: to bring the human aspect back to work. And that is the point here: to work. Since hundreds of millions of people work in Microsoft Office and SharePoint every day, we integrate with that environment to make social a reality for you. SharePoint is a wonderful platform and we are proud to build real social business cases on top of it. You should see our new Windows 8 app on my Surface: beautiful!
Making Social a Reality
Over the course of the last few weeks, I have met with dozens of clients to talk about what they need to make social a reality and the answer is always the same: keep it real and make it happen. Sure I could wear fancy suits and invest more time speaking with analysts (I actually should), but we're like the working class of the social business family … under promise, over deliver. Did you know we run customer communities scaling way beyond 100K users, that we integrate with enterprise applications like Microsoft Dynamics, or that we allow you to continue to use Salesforce Chatter or Microsoft Yammer while building a real social business environment? No? Well maybe we should talk a little more about the great stuff we're working on :-)
