Sometime last week, my email inbox crossed over the 110,000 mark. I have 10’s of thousands of emails in other folders, but my main inbox currently shows 110,092 items. I don’t really see a problem with that, but I believe that one of the greatest promises of social technology is, at some point in the future, my “inbox” will contain messages that have been very nicely categorized and prioritized.
I recently finished listening to Susan Cain’s book - Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. Suppose you answered your telephone and a fast-talking salesperson said this: “I’ve got a product for you! It’s used by millions of people. It has tons more features than what you have today – frankly, it’s the Cadillac to your Yugo. And the cost is nothing compared to the benefits. So how much do you want to buy?”
I’m sure the title of this blog post could be turned into some clever joke, bBrian-Kellnerut the truth is sometimes seemingly unrelated things can come together to produce something cool. In this case, the cool thing is an app in the SharePoint 2013 beta marketplace called “The Election Watch – 2012”.
