What a great week for our customer AMP. They rocked the #DW24, a 24-hour showroom of intranets around the world with a live tour of AMP’s brand new social intranet, The Hub. Using NewsGator, the new intranet delivers a beautiful, unified experience — bringing together published content, collaboration sites, and social interactivity into one place for AMP employees to do their work.
When you're putting all your heart in building a product, in our case an Enterprise Social Platform, you like to see what people really do with it. As you know, I am a big fan of an open dialogue and have been visiting as many of you as I can. Just last week, I had a chance to meet many of you at SHARE Atlanta and I’d like to share some of that experience.
Our friends at McKinsey just released an update from their executive report about the adoption of social. The feedback is that 83% are using at least one social technology but more remarkable is that 65% of employees access the tools through their mobile device. The report continues to claim that 90% of executives report measurable results from the use of Social.
Unbelievable! I was on my way to the airport after our Collective Conference and I was trying to sort through the many ideas, emotions and impressions from the event and it came back to me over and over: unbelievable.
As we launch the latest release of Social Sites, the world's most advanced social business platform, I am reminded of the movie 50 First Dates, a story about a guy that falls in love with a young woman that is reliving the same day over and over after surviving a car accident.
Running from one meeting to the next at the SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas last week I saw a tweet about an interview with Dell president, Steve Felice, asking CEOs to get social, referring them to use LinkedIn and Chatter "to listen to what employees and customers are saying." Sounds right? Not at all.
As we get ready for the SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas next week, many of you have approached me with two questions: How is NewsGator doing and what is your take on SharePoint 2013? While I hope to see many of you next week at my session (FYI, do a search for NewsGator), it might be a good opportunity to give you an update on NewsGator now.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to talk about the social workplace and the power of social in an enterprise context. Whether it's on stage at an industry event or in the client's board room talking about what’s possible, it is always amazing to see what can happen to an organization that unleashes the power of social.
