Build or configure a car?

Cars and enterprise mobile apps have a lot in common. Both have a lot of complexities hidden underneath a pretty surface. You can use both to get stuff done, and most people prefer to configure them and not build them. While car manufacturers have had car configurators for many years, the enterprise mobility market is very fragmented and complex with all of the enterprise systems that need to be integrated.
Recently the head of IT at a global consulting company groaned that they have so many processes and systems. He said he wished he could connect into those systems, pick a few things, put them together, and get them out on mobile devices to accelerate processes and make his people more productive. But his reality is that he gets an email notifying him about a new SAP approval waiting for him. No link is in the email because it is too costly to develop; he has to navigate through his manager portal to get to the approval.
Wouldn’t it be great to have an app configurator with pre-built controls, apps, and backend integrations in order to mobilize your business processes? Wouldn’t it be great to create an app like a Leave Request App rapidly? Take a look.

With Sitrion ONE you are able to configure an app in 60 seconds, just like you saw in the video. You may think, wait a minute, this is just the UI, but what about the business logic and the backend integration into SAP, PeopleSoft, or other HCM systems? That is a great question, and in upcoming posts we will share with you how easy it is to connect to backend systems like SAP and SharePoint. By the way, we showed this head of IT how he can manage all of his approvals in one mobile app and he was thrilled to not only get processes mobilized, but also get all of his approvals in one stream on his employees’ mobile devices.
