ONE Platform Release 1.53

The Sitrion ONE Cloud Communications platform is the standalone end-to-end communications solution that publishes content to the Sitiron ONE stream on mobile and desktop clients.

Cloud Comm Approvals

We’ve added an approval system to Sitrion ONE allowing communication teams to use a process for approving message content in ONE before it’s published.

How to use it: At a basic level, Cloud Comm or Tenant admins can assign two new permissions for cloud comm writers: a new permission level to only suggest messages, and a new permission level to approve suggested messages. Existing Cloud Comm writers will not have either of these permissions applied to them. Cloud Comm admins can always approve messages. There is a new filter in the messages console allows approvers and admins to see they messages that require approval. Approval notifications will come in a later version.

Please read the Sitrion ONE Cloud Comm Approvals Guide for further details, or contact you customer success manager.

Cloud Comm Writer Bulk Permissions

You can now change writer permissions in a single bulk operation.

How to use it: Navigate to the Cloud Comm writer permission console and click the Bulk Operations link to expand the bulk operations console. From there you can choose your permission changes and apply it to all users.

Showing Share Option in Card Preview

The Card preview in the new message console has been improved to be more accurate. It now displays the share control as it would on the card in a user’s feed.

Remind Cloud Comm Writers that no group is targeted or Channel is selected

Cloud Comm or Tenant admins can enable a reminder feature for writers when publishing cards with no channels or groups. Depending on the chosen settings, a warning will display for a message that has no groups or channels targeted or both. These are just warnings and do not prevent the publishing of content.

How to use it: Navigate to the Settings > Card console and check either of the “Remind authors to select a channel” or “Remind authors to select a group” check boxes.

View/Export Channel Subscribers

Another addition to Cloud Comms in this release is the ability to view or export channel subscribers.

How to use it: Navigate to the Channels console, select the desired channel and then click the Subscriber tab to view current subscribers. Click Export to Excel to export the subscribers.

Folders for Videos

You can now place videos in a folder created in the folder resources console. This is designed to allow you to categorize your videos into different folders. Currently videos are not shown in the ONE Files micro app, though this will be coming very soon. Video managers can now also filter the videos by folder.

If you don’t wish to have the folders you use for your videos show in the ONE File micro app you can set permissions to a group with no members. This will not prevent the sharing of the video but will prevent the folder from rendering to end users in the micro app.

How to use it: In the Resources > Videos > you can upload or edit videos and place them into a folder using the folder dropdown. To filter, use the choose folders dropdown to select the folder contents you wish to view. Videos can be in multiple folders.

Mobile App Deep Links

Now in Cloud Comms you can get deep links that you can share with your employees that will open the ONE client and navigate directly to the story you want to share.  This works just like YouTube or other popular platforms that have mobile apps. When you open a YouTube link on your mobile device, the YouTube app opens and shows the video instead of the web page.

How to use it: In the Cloud Comm Admin > Messages console, you can expand a message’s details to get the card deep link under the “Link to published cards” section.

New Report Enhancements

Various enhancements to reporting were made, including:

  • Group Filter added to Cloud Comm Dashboard Report
  • Sort Cloud Comm Messages by shares
  • Message Export exports share counts
  • Share Report displays messages that are included in share count
  • User Activation Date on Users Console

New Detailed Video Report Page

In the new Video reports page, you can now view which individual users have watched a video.

How to use it: Navigate to Resources > Reports > Video Viewers to access the new report page.

New Access by Day of Week Report

Tenant admins now can see which days of the week get the most traffic in the platform.

How to use it: Navigate to Tenant Admin > Reports > Dashboard to view the new report

Consume Global Cloud Comm Feed in other systems

Some customers have asked to display global Cloud Comm content in other systems – so we’ve added a new integration API allowing other systems to request any global (as in, not targeted to a group) content. You can also get a specific channel feed if the content or channel is not targeted to a group.

How to use it: Engage with your customer success manager to get more details.

ONE Platform Release 1.52

The Sitrion ONE Cloud Communications platform is the standalone end-to-end communications solution that publishes content to the Sitiron ONE stream on mobile and desktop clients.

Tappable images with pinch and zoom

We've added the ability for users to tap images, which will load them in an image-only view. In this view, users can pinch and zoom on the image.

How to use it: On any cloud comm card users can now just tap the image to enable the pinch and zoom.

Social functions added to polls

We’ve extended the social functions of messages to poll cards, allowing users to like and comment on polls.

How to use it: Any new poll cards created after this release will automatically have likes and comments enabled by default. If you don’t want a specific poll to have social interactions, you have the ability to disable the social interactions just as you would for a news message.

Message targeting UI improvement

To make make targeting more clear during message creation, the group selector is now placed next to the channel selector.

Updated Send Message microapp

The 'Send Message' microapp permits cloud comm authors to publish messages from their mobile phone. In this version authors can select multiple groups to target and ad multiple images and captions for those images.

New initiated user activity report algorithm

User activity metrics calculations have been improved on the User Report in central admin. The Active Users - Last 7 Days and Active Users - Last 30 Days numbers now only report users that have come back to the system at least two unique days.

The intention of this change is to avoid counting users that have downloaded the app and only come once to the system. Customer feedback suggested that counting these users was not a fair representation of active users. This new way of counting active users is only going to affect new users to the system and will not account for existing users before this upgrade

We’ve also added a count of new users that have joined the system in the last 7 and 30 days making it easier for administrators to determine how many new users have joined the system.

Daily User Login Report improved

The daily user login report now has an export function and also provides an the  average for the last month

How to use it: In the Tenant Admin -> Reports -> Users -> Daily user logins report you will now see a  export to excel button along with the current average at the top.

Schedule a draft

In this version, cloud comm authors can now set a scheduled publish date for draft messages which will change the message from a draft to a scheduled message.

How to use it: When editing a draft message, authors can now set a scheduled publish date using the calendar object at the bottom of the editor view. Once a publish date is set, click save to change this message from draft to a scheduled message.

New Share Report

Along with other reporting improvements, in this release we have added a new share report in the cloud comm reports console allowing cloud comm admins to review share metrics for cloud comm messages. Metrics displayed are Total shares, shares by time of day and top sharers.

How to use it: Navigate to Cloud Comm > Reports > Shares to view the new report page.

Group-level data reporting

You can now filter reports by groups. This allows our customers to look at segmented populations and how they are performing in various metrics in the platform. The following reports now support group filterting:

Tenant Admin

  • Users console
  • Reports > Users
  • Reports > Inactive users

Cloud Comm

  • Reports > Confirmations
  • Reports > Invitations
  • Reports > Invitation Analytics
  • Reports > Messages
  • Reports > Polls
  • Reports > Kudos
  • Reports > Badges
  • Reports > Shares

How to use it: In any of the reports mentioned above find the group dropdown to filter the report by a specific group.

New email digest options

Cloud comm email digest now has more options available to modify what content is included. Admins can toggle images on or off in the email, or choose to include or exclude global content in a cloud comm writers digest.

How to use it: Navigate to Cloud Comm > Settings > Digest to configure your digest settings.

ONE Platform Release 1.51

The Sitrion ONE Cloud Communications platform is the standalone end-to-end communications solution that publishes content to the Sitiron ONE stream on mobile and desktop clients.

Save a new message as a draft

This feature allows Cloud Comm Authors to start a new story and save it as a draft for future editing. We’ve also renamed the ‘Send’ button to ‘Publish.’ This wording change is in preparation for an Approval feature that is soon to be released. Stay tuned for that update.

How to use it:  To save a draft message, just click the draft icon beside the Publish button (formerly Send) and the message will be save as a draft.

Saved drafts will appear in your list of cards with an edit button. You can identify drafts by the orange draft tag at the top of the cards. You can also filter your view to only view draft cards.

Publish a single card in multiple languages

Messages can now be published in multiple languages and sent as a single card. Users will be able to view messages in other languages if their device is configured for one of the message languages chosen. The message will not be auto-translated; instead, authors will have to provide the translations. Should the users device language not be on of the chosen languages for the message, the message will display in the tenant default language.

How to use it: The first step is for an admin to enable multiple authoring languages. Select the desired languages in the Cloud Comm Admin Console under Settings.

Find the Language for message composition section and deselect “Allow to write messages in your tenant default language only”. Next select the desired languages you wish your authors to use.

Once an admin has enabled authoring in multiple languages you can create cards with multiple language versions. During card creation, select the flag that represents the language you wish to add to the message. Insert the translated text appropriate for that language. The flag icon will flip from grayscale to color once content is inserted in the corresponding card version. See below for an example that includes content for a French and English version of the card.

Get Talking: Using Chat in your ONE Employee App

Did you know peer-to-peer chat is now part of Sitrion ONE? Now you can get instant notifications and real time mobile communication done securely within your employee app.

How it works

Start chats by pressing the chat icon in the top toolbar of ONE. From here you can search for people in your organization and create a new 1-on-1 or group thread. Chat works in real-time, so you can see if someone else is typing and wait to respond – and get their message instantly. Users can opt to get push notifications on their phone or email notifications, so they’ll never miss urgent chat messages.

Having a lightweight, instantaneous chat tool in a secure environment allows employees to communicate faster without the risk of exposing data to an external system, like WhatsApp or SMS text messaging. This added security and immediacy opens the possibilities of what you can do with your ONE app, namely:

Get instant group conversation done away from your desk.

Sometimes you’re mobile and you need a quick check-in with your team or have a question that needs an instant answer. If you’re in a retail space, at a manufacturing plant, or on a warehouse floor, you can get solutions and information instantly without returning to your desktop. ONE can create preset groups for chat based on your organization's Azure Directory or other grouping structures that you have in place - so group chats are kept relevant and confidential.

Find the expert you need and chat with them instantly.

ONE allows you to search your organization’s directory for the person with the right expertise who may be able to help you with a pressing issue. With chat, you can now look this person up and immediately begin a dialogue with them without leaving the employee app.

Ask HR and get answers faster.

Many companies struggle with processing a heavy load of inquiries to an HR helpdesk, but many of these queries are quick information requests. While using ONE to access HR self-services like benefits and time off information, employees can quickly open chat to ask HR for a clarification, eliminating a call or support ticket.

Replace 'Shadow IT' with a secure space.

A lot of non-desk roles require instant mobile communication tools. Without a service provided by the company, enterprising employees find their own means of communicating with each other to report issues, swap shifts, and transfer critical information. With chat and ONE’s ability to control grouping and organizing of your staff communication, these conversations can now happen securely. A single retail store can have its own chat to report cleanups, restocking needs, and ask for help at the register; a restaurant staff can communicate information from shift-to-shift; workers on a factory floor can report and solve issues that need immediate attention; sales and marketing staff at a trade show can share customer information without leaving a meeting or booth. The intuitive and easy user experience of ONE chat gives employees the functionality they were looking for when they sought out their own external solution.

Chat and the ONE communications platform serve different complementary needs within your employee app, so make sure to plan your use and governance of chat. There are many, many different ways to use the chat feature to help your employees stay engaged and communicate faster – think big, and contact your customer success representative to brainstorm how you could leverage secure instant chat.

For an up-to-date list of features of the Sitrion ONE employee app, check the capabilities page.

  • Group Specific Digest
  • Force Subscribe all Cloud Comm admins or cloud comm writers to digest
  • View Unsubscribed users
  • Digest now supports user targeted format allowing the digest to contain only the content the user is permitted to see
  • All recipients of a digest are now required to be ONE users.

How to use it: As a cloud comm or tenant admin navigate to Cloud Comm -> Settings -> Digest to view the new capabilities.

To subscribe users to a specific group digest navigate to the Cloud Comm -> Users and Groups. Select the group you want to register a user for and click the digest tab.

Slim card header for web clients

Sitrion continues to emphasize improving users’ visual experience. As part of this effort, we’ve minimized the space used by the header of the cards. In this release the HTML client will display a new header design and the mobile apps will follow suit in their next release. This will make better use of the space for content in the available screen real estate.

Tracked Links Report now links back to related message

In this latest release, the tracked links report now allows administrators to easily find in which message the link was shared.

How to use it: Navigate to the Cloud Comms > Reports > Tracked Links to view the updated report. Click any link item to view the details on the right. Clicking the details redirect you to the detail view of the message in the messages console.

ONE Platform Release 1.49

The Sitrion ONE Cloud Communications platform is the standalone end-to-end communications solution that publishes content to the Sitiron ONE stream on mobile and desktop clients.

View past messages as a table in Message Console

The messages console previously showed all your messages in ‘card’ form. It now supports an option for viewing your messages in a sortable table, allowing for a more streamlined view of the messages that your organization has sent out to employees. This view supports all filters.

How to use it: In the filter section of the messages console a new options is available: “View as Table” or “View as Cards”.

Search added to Message Console

In addition to the table view, the messages console now has the capability to search for a message using a key word search.

How to use it: In the filter section of the messages console, a search text box is now visible at the top and will execute the search immediately when text is added.

**Note: The search only returns messages that have been created after this release and will not return older messages.

Channels now support descriptions

You can now add a description for channels. This description is shown to users when they view the channel selector micro-app, providing more context to users about the intent and content of the channel.

How to use it: Navigate to the Channels section in the Cloud Comm admin console. Click edit to access the channel editor. In the edit dialog there is new text box for entering the channel description.

New subscription options for Channels

Existing channel

New channel

Along with the ability to add a channel description, channels now have new user subscription options.

For existing channels, you can now set “subscribe new users” check box, which ensures that when new users register to the system, they will automatically be subscribed to the channel.

For new channels created after this release, you have three new options:

1. Everyone can subscribe
This option allows for quick permission setting. When enabled all users will automatically have access, if unchecked, no users will have access until a group is added to the permissions for the channel.

2. Subscribe new users
As mentioned before, this will ensure newly registered users are subscribed to the channel. This will respect the group permission set for the channel.

3. Subscribe Existing users
When enabled this will ensure that all current users will be subscribed.

How to use it: Navigate to the channels editor in the tenant admin console and either edit a channel or add a new channel to access the new subscription options.

Email Digest images and Unsubscribe feature

The digest email now shows thumbnails for images included in the message to enhance the visual experience of the email. An ‘unsubscribe’ feature has also been added to the email so users can opt-out from the digest right from their inbox, instead of asking for an admin to remove them.

If a user unsubscribes they will be listed in the Unsubscribed Users tab in the Cloud Comm digest editor.

How to use it: Thumbnail images are automatically added. To unsubscribe from a digest email, click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the digest email.

To view unsubscribed users, navigate to the digest section of the Cloud Comm admin settings console and click the unsubscribed user tab.

More granular user activity reporting

Depending on your use case for ONE, you may want users logging in once a week, once a day, etc (generally, once a week fits most adoption efforts). Previous to this release, all users who logged in the last 5 days were grouped in an ‘Active last 1-5 days’ tier. In this release we have expanded the 1-5 day tiers to each individual day, allowing for more specific user login and adoption tracking.

How to use it: Navigate to the tenant admin reports console and select users to see the new breakdown.
