This year has seen its fair share of turmoil. From the economic crisis in Europe to the terrorist attacks in Paris. From the heart breaking picture of a three year old refugee boy dead on the shore of Turkey to the growing divide among ideologies.
But for me, it is not just about the millions of refugees, it is about the courageous acts of love by random people in the refugee camps standing up for those that lost everything. It is not about the political agenda, it is about the fact that 196 nations stand united and agree on a climate deal to save the planet. Those are remarkable signs of hope and proof that we can learn from our historical mistakes.
For my part, I am hopeful
It is really up to us to see this as a year of tragedy or a year of hope. For my part, I am hopeful. As I am notoriously an optimist, I see the world being in such chaos not because of evil forces taking over, but for the 'good' winning the upper hand. We should not fear! Nothing learned from Yoda we have?
“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
Happy holidays from all of us at Sitrion
You might wonder why I am not sharing stories about Sitrion. Nothing would come close to what is happening around us. But we actually had a great year! We executed well, we delivered further on our vision to make work better, and created some remarkably cool products. I will be sharing more in the New Year.
As we close 2015, I would like to say thanks to all the optimistic people out there. You don’t have to agree with me, just keep doing those little acts of kindness every day. Keep that smile and make others smile. Those are the things that allow the force of hope to awaken, and allows me to stay naively hopeful every day.
